FORCES HELP

Allows calculation of the forces, angles and distances in various force related problems, from set structures to forces in any direction.

 Equations> Force/structural Diagrams

Method of use :

SeleSelect a beam/force structure from the side tree menu. As example above : Beam fixed Supports

Click on the variable checkbox or enter a QUESTIONMARK(?)  for the unknown variable i.e. variable to be solved for. In the case above Fav is required to be solved for.

Enter numeric values into the other variables, as the above example.

Click the “Calculate” button and the unknown value will be calculated on the display.

Note : Enter angle values in degrees. Angles are taken from the x-axis to the force action. Each diagram displays an axis detailing the positive direction of the forces, all equations used to solve the problems have been constructed using this convention of direction, only enter negative force values in if the force direction is in the opposite manner to the shown diagram.

For each of the problems the following forces and combinations can be solved for :

For beam : fixed supports : any of the forces, angles can be solved for and any of the following combinations :fav & f1, f1 & f2, fbv & f1 & fbh, fav & f2 & fah, fbv & f2 & fbh, fav & fbh, fav & fbv , fbv & fah

Beam : One Fixed Support : any of the forces, angles can be solved for and any of the following combinations : fav & f1, f1 & f2, fav & f2 & fah, , fav & fbv, fbv & fah

Beam : Loading, Fixed : Only individually can ra, rb, qo and L can be solved for. Ma and Mb refer to the moments at each end.

Beam : Loading Slant, Fixed : Only individually can ra, rb and p can be solved for. Ma and Mb refer to the moments at each end.

Beam : Force, Fixed : Only individually can ra, rb , qo and L can be solved for.

Beam : Structure 1: any of the forces and distances can be solved for and any of the following combinations : fah & fbh, fah & fav, fah & fbv, fah & f1, fah & f2, fah & x1, fah & x2, fah & x3, fah & fbh & fav, fah & fbh &fbv, fah & f1 & fbh, fah & f2 & fbh, fbh & fav, fbh & fbv, fbh & f1, fbh & fav, fbh & fbv, fbh & f1, fbh & f2, fbh & x1,fbh & x2, fbh & x3

6 Forces Joint : any of the forces and angles can be solved for and any of the following combinations : f4 & f6, f3 & f6, f3 & f1, f4 & f1, f2 & f1, f5 & f6, f5 & f1, angle 1 & f6, angle 2 & f6, angle 3 & f6, angle 1 & f1, angle 2 & f1, angle 3 & f1

3 Forces Joint : any of the forces and angles can be solved for.
